@atineoSE that’s an interesting comparison. There might be the same psychological basis behind both. @sla_shalafi I’ll have a look then. Thanks. @sla_shalafi I’m a bit undecided due to the free to play. I prefer Mario where I pay and I know the game is not made to make me pay more.My favorite: “People think they’re exceptions. @daniel_a_a finally, that looks very asynchronous and driven by events and a hell to debug to me. @daniel_a_a also, any code any other iOS/Mac developer can read. I can’t even figure out what your code does by looking at it. @daniel_a_a depends on definition of better. Any code that I don’t have to untangle one month from now for me is better. @daniel_a_a if anything, that screenshot convinces me even more of the opposite.

@atineose not necessarily. I keep testability in mind, but I also saw devs import testing patterns from Java that don’t fit Swift. @atineose testing is more popular on other platforms. I sometimes write them, but only in specific cases. @atineose In 10 years, most problems I have seen came from bad architecture or patterns. None would have been solved by tests. @atineose many devs will stone me for saying this, but probably the second. Depends on a lot of factors though. Hard to evaluate like this. @darylginn I mostly swipe from the left edgeSend your boss a weekly update email Especially if she never asked for one Always works like magic

@darylginn @gt it depends how you define difference. One person is a pretty low bar imo, but if you think it’s enough, yes, it would make it @darylginn @gt doesn’t this show the opposite? Smokers know it’s unhealthy. When they start they cough and get nausea. And still do it. @gt @darylginn I don’t think it would make much difference. 2/3 of people in USA are overweight, but they certainly don’t lack information. @gt @darylginn no, we wouldn’t. People are going to see this image and still buy Nutella. Information alone is not enough. After months of work, I will open again my professional iOS course next week. @sla_shalafi That’s fair, if it’s something you don’t like. Many don’t realize that business is mostly marketing and sales, not just code. @sla_shalafi 4% is amazing. They can easily double the price and they are already at the top of the grossing chart. @sla_shalafi All because we want to run businesses while despising marketing and sales. So the only “strategy” we have is low prices..@sla_shalafi We can rehash that all we want, but it’s we developers that taught people that software is worth nothing.A rare blue moon: Hacker News commenters acknowledge marketing is important, not a scam.
