@aral (That said, generally in at least Sweden everyone with an interest in the legislation are consulted when new laws are made) @aral Standards are not laws and depend on the involvement of those expected to implement them, so not sure I agree with that comparison @barryf Seen https://t.co/sfqdTKNzcw ? Would be great with an implementation report for https://t.co/ZsrI6uQGdD :) @aral Agree, but sounded like you thought it was wrong of these Google employees to take part? :/ Did I misunderstand you? @aral So browser vendors should not take part in the standardization process? This sounds very much like guilt by association?I am very happy to announce that we found the first SHA1 collision - https://t.co/g7CoYutiIG … #security #TLS #SHA1 #SHAttered

@kolombiken Should be doable to make a good accessible polyfill for IE/Edge though? And the rest seems to support it well enough @kolombiken Thinking about it, why doesn’t one often use a <details> instead? That should work without js + be accessible, right? Most anti-virus products are snake oil which make computers *less* secure: https://t.co/4uZJGxiT5x https://t.co/pw96fjOkka
Retweeted by Pelle Wessman @kolombiken /me wants <toggle>Do the toggle</toggle>, agree that the checkbox solution is a hack, but it's so very handy to not need js @yoavweiss Here's a test case: https://t.co/mv2SP1umfs Verified that it produced the same duplicate download. Is my link wrong in some way? @yoavweiss Could it be that the network tab in the web dev tools misleads me? I see eg. "main-7872e8253e.css" loaded twice on that pageYay! Retweeted by Pelle Wessman @yoavweiss Nice! Tried it on https://t.co/fX1X9zvp6X and seeing it downloading the css and js from the preload, but also from the html tags? Typ Slack och dylikt känns som de får ta mycket support härVersion 7.6 of @nodejs is out with V8 5.5 (native support for `async` and `await` WITHOUT a flag)! 😍… https://t.co/faPAFoWI4O

Retweeted by Pelle Wessman @feross That’s how eg. Drupal does it. If one can prove one has asked the maintainer but gotten no response, then one can be handed the name @feross I think a standardized way to ask for a project name, with proper time for a maintainer to prove it isn’t abandoned would be the way @feross Not so sure, some side projects might run and be healthy for +1 year without any redeploys. No deploys doesn’t mean it’s abandoned

@andymckay It’s also pretty empowering that there’s no limit to what an addon can add. I eg needed no permission for https://t.co/MPQWgtnJS9 @andymckay Why I use Firefox? Because Tab Mix Plus makes it easy to have +100 tabs open, I know the web dev tools + I like browser diversity @jlongster It can also be great for R&D, so as long as one gets paid for what one produce rather than by the hour it can earn a lot of money @jlongster I agree somewhat, some OSS projects can cost money, but in a good community where everyone pays it forward it can be the reverseI must say: Instagram’s spam reporting tool must be one of the best ones I’ve seen. That they reconnect with their conclusion is truly greatToday we moved all of Twitter's mobile web traffic (that's like, a lot) to our new web stack – Node.js, Express, React PWA.

Retweeted by Pelle Wessman @spainmtrain @sindresorhus A grant system would even allow for all of us with full-time jobs to get funded by applying through our employers @spainmtrain @sindresorhus But maybe could work by selling prioritized support, sponsorship etc and then handing out grants to applicants @spainmtrain @sindresorhus So it needs to promote and fund many small modules from many small independent creators, which is tricky @spainmtrain @sindresorhus Not so sure. With Conway’s law (https://t.co/hzNO6iVabA) follows that any organization should mimic npm ecosystem @sindresorhus True, one example of that seems to be @rubytogether. A similar approach but adopted to the Node-way of things could be good @sindresorhus To convince a company to do that I think it would be good if many maintainers joined up so one could support all at once @sindresorhus If a company can support the OSS in a tax-deductible way then you could essentially get double the money for the same cost
